Courteous Kind Caring Compassionate are just a few words to describe the staff at STATE HOUSE INN BY WYNDHAM in Springfield, Illinois. Evernell set the tone with her patience and oh so kind voice when I called the hotel. I had no idea where it was and she helped with that. Told me not to worry the hotel was across from The Capitol. This was a visit to see my sister’s friend who had moved back to Springfield. When we checked in Evernell was fantastic. She greeted us with the biggest smile and we felt relieved. She even helped us with our bags. Shah, the assistant manager, made sure my sister and I had rooms right across from each other. Patient and kind describe him, as well. Then comes Kendra who I called at 3:30 am to complain about the toilet height. She immediately took me to see another room. Shah, the assistant manager also showed us a handicapped suite later that evening. Couldn’t ask for better service. So from Evernell to Shah to Kendra, Kesh C. to Peter and Roy in maintenance I have never seen such caring staff. They are still in the process of IMPROVING and RENOVATING the hotel so l could accept a few difficulties like a lower toilet because KIND people are absolutely more important than a few quirks that have to be rectified. I highly recommend STATE HOUSE INN BY WYNDHAM for the the convenient location to the Capitol, the modern decor but most of all for the amazing people who work there.

Clean, affordable, very attentive staff. I had a meeting at the Capital building and the location is perfect for that. Amenities are very basic, but if you want a decent, exceptionally clean, and professional staff, you should stay here.

I just wanted to say that the Customer Service experience at this hotel is fantastic and the rates are wonderful. The young lady that worked this evening at the State house in around 5:30 on August 27, 2025 was so friendly and so courteous and very caring she did a tremendous favor for my wedding party for my daughter. She upgraded my daughters Room to a king suite for her so that her and her soon to be husband would have extra privacy while getting dressed, which I thought was wonderful very friendly staff very clean. Great customer service would recommend to anyone. Thank you for making my daughters day very special.

Nice facility. Clean and updated room. We were disappointed and surprised that this nice hotel had no refrigerator or microwave in the room. We have stayed at Motel 6 and they have both. It also said it had a hairdryer which it did not. We stayed there as to be close to the hospital for an early morning procedure my wife had. When I called before I made the reservation they told me breakfast was at 6:00. When we checked in the attendant said breakfast was at 6:00. It was not. It was 6:30 which did not work as we had to be at the hospital at 6:30. While my wife could not eat because of her procedure, I was counting on a breakfast which I did not receive. Both on the phone and at the desk, the staff was very friendly and pleasant.

Great hospitality from the moment I walked in to check in around 10pm. I was greeted with all smiles, room was very clean. I had a meeting by the state capitol which is walking distance away. The location of hotel is great!!! Breakfast was light, but they sent me an email before saying that. Only downside is that there is a train going through Springfield throughout the night and the driver decides to “ honk “ obnoxiously when not a single car is present on the road. Overall a great experience, great lobby as well.

Had a layover here and loved it! The hotel is older with a great 50s/60s Atomic Mid-Century Jetsons vibe! The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The location was nice with lots of things to do within walking distance. The only issue with my room...it was surrounded by rooms which contained a minor league baseball team who were a little noisy after winning their game. No big deal. I'd stay here, again.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Front desk staff were extremely friendly as well. My only complaint was, they advertised Free breakfast, however the only items that were available were cereal and bread; nothing else. There was no reason to have such a slim choice of options. There were no natural disaster or snow storms preventing them for providing a more adequate meal options. Other than that, great location and great view of the Capital building.

The rooms were nice and the staff were very kind and helpful too! I made the mistake of not checking the amenities provided and when I realized I didn't have a fridge in my room I was very nervous because I'm a mom of a 4 month old and currently pump to put milk aside for his bottles. The staff member was very understanding and helped me get solutions to be able to help store my milk and still enjoy our stay for the weekend. A few things in the room were missing/broken but it didn't impact our stay much at all and we will decently come again!!
